BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016 - <br />AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR'S SIGNATURE ON 2016 RECREATION AND <br />CONSERVATION PROJECT AGREEMENT FOR RINGER LOOP ACQUISTIONS AND <br />DESIGN <br />WHEREAS: Ringer Loop Road has experienced significant flood damage during the 2015116 <br />winter season; and <br />WHEREAS: Flood waters are damaging neighboring properties and the river is likely to <br />continue adversely impacting neighboring properties; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works desires acquiring flood damaged properties and establishing flood <br />resistant vegetation and natural channel amenities along the likely future path of <br />the river; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works has received project funding from Recreation and Conservation <br />Office (RCO) in the amount of $988,452.00 for acquisition of flood prone <br />properties at Ringer Loop Road; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works desires planning and designing for the future river path of the <br />Yakima River at Ringer Loop; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best <br />interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to sign RCO grant <br />documents. <br />DATED this 22nd day of August, 2016, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />111 k- <br />qN <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Obie , Chairman <br />aul Jewell, Vice -Chairman <br />�h �) <br />Laura Osia acz, Commissioner <br />
