Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve Resolution 2019-016 with <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON <br />WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S CERTIFICATION <br />ACCEPTANCE QUALIFICATION AGREEMENT <br />Mark Cook stated that Public Works benefits from maintaining certified <br />status through the Washington State Department of Transportation <br />(WSDOT). Mark Cook continued that this status allows Public Works to <br />manage and administer its own federal transportation grants without <br />relying on state management. Mark Cook added that the Kittitas <br />Highway project in 2015 almost put Public Works out of certified <br />status. Mark Cook commented that when Sara Folk was hired she worked <br />with WSDOT getting Public Works back into compliance and now with her <br />departure WSDOT is requesting an updated agreement. Mark Cook added <br />that he did enter into a task order with Jacobs for services for final <br />auditing of projects that Sara Folk began with her time at Public <br />Works. Chairman Cory Wright called for a motion to approve Resolution <br />2019-017 Authorizing the Chair's Signature on Washington State <br />Department of Transportation's Certification Acceptance Qualification <br />Agreement. Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve <br />Resolution 2019-017 with Commissioner Laura Osiadacz seconding the <br />motion. Motion passed. <br />Mark Cook stated that a resident in the area of Umptanum Road <br />requested to have the speed limited lowered in the area of Riverbottom <br />Road and Manastash Road. Mark Cook continued that staff has completed <br />the work on the speed study and would like to set a public hearing to <br />present the results of the study for Board consideration. Discussion <br />was held. Staff was directed to schedule the public hearing at the <br />next agenda session. <br />WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION BRIDGE WORK TASK ORDER <br />AGREEMENT NO. JE5S93 DISCUSSION <br />Mark Cook gave background on the need for repairs on certain bridges <br />throughout the county. Mark Cook stated that Kittitas County entered <br />into a Bridge Work Master Agreement with Washington State Department <br />of .Transportation (WSDOT) in 2013 and over the past several years <br />WSDOT bridge repair crews have assisted with repairing county owned <br />bridges. Mark Cook continued that staff can go out to small works for <br />a contractor to do the minor repairs needed on selected bridges or <br />WSDOT is offering a supervisor to assist county forces to do the <br />repairs as a learning exercise. Mark Cook added the cost for WSDOT to <br />do this work is approximately forty five hundred dollars .($1500). <br />Staff was directed to sign the task order agreement with WSDOT for <br />assistance with bridge repairs. <br />2019-01-28 MINUTES <br />
