Cook on the work done on this project. Chairman Cory Wright called <br />for a motion to approve Resolution 2019-078 Authorizing the Director <br />of Public Works to Authorize a Notice of Call for Bids for the <br />Teanaway Road Hydraulic Improvements Phase 1: Story Creek Culvert <br />Replacement Project. Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to <br />approve with Commissioner Laura Osiadacz seconding the motion. Motion <br />passed. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS TO AUTHORIZE A NOTICE OF CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE BIG BOULDER CREEK <br />BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />Mark Cook stated that during a bridge inspection staff found <br />sufficient damage to the bridge at Big Boulder Creek to issue a load <br />rating for the bridge and the need to get a project together to <br />replace the structure. Mark Cook continued that this bridge is used <br />for recreational purposes and there are some residences in the area. <br />Discussion was held. Chairman Cory Wright called for a motion to <br />approve Resolution 2019-079 Authorizing the Public Works Director to <br />Authorize a Notice of Call for Bids for the Big Boulder Bridge <br />Replacement Project. Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to <br />approve with Commissioner Laura Osiadacz seconding said motion. <br />Motion passed. <br />BOWERS FIELD CONSULTANT SCOPE OF WORK DISCUSSION <br />Mark Cook stated that after conducting interviews for the Airport <br />Manager position it was discussed to suspend advertisement and explore <br />other options for the management of Bowers Field. Mark Cook continued <br />that at the request of the Board he drafted a scope of work to package <br />into a Request for Qualifications. Mark Cook added that he presented <br />the scope of work to the Airport Advisory Committee at last week's <br />meeting and has not received any comments. Discussion was held. Mark <br />Cook asked for direction on the selection committee once submittals <br />are received and staff was directed that the Board of County <br />Commissioners, a member of the Airport Advisory Committee and either <br />himself or Candie Leader will review the submittals for scoring. <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz thanked Mark Cook for working on this and <br />thinks this is a good step forward for Bowers Field. <br />KITTITAS COUNTY 2019 SAFETY PLAN <br />Mark Cook explained that staff has been working on finalizing the <br />safety plan when on Friday afternoon notice was received that Public <br />Works was approved for funding for the overlay of Vantage Highway. <br />Mark Cook stated that when the wind towers were constructed the <br />roadway was damaged by trucks delivering equipment for the project. <br />Mark Cook continued that the safety plan called for bridge rail retro- <br />fits however with this award staff would like to bundle the RAP funds <br />for the overlay and reprioritize the safety plan targeting rail <br />replacement along Vantage Highway. Mark Cook added that once the plan <br />is finalized staff will bring forward at the May 21st agenda for <br />2019-05-13 MINUTES <br />
