CENTURY
W///W
E N G I N E E R I N G
TASK 2 - DESIGN SURVEY & PROJECT BASE MAP SET UP (KPG)
It is assumed a partial project survey and base map were previously prepared as part of
the separate Airfield Environmental Assessment project. Previous topographic survey
data collected included Runway 7-25 pavement grades at a 25 foot grid and included
centerline and edge grades. Previous topographic survey also included off -pavement
grades within an area 500' wide centered on runway centerline for the full runway
length plus 300' beyond each runway end. Drainage features, signs, edge lights,
reflectors and utilities were also included as part of this effort. As the Runway 25 end of
pavement has since been modified, supplemental grade data is necessary.
To support runway profile and RSA grading design, and to ensure proposed runway end
points are accurate; and to ensure the runway has a clear approach; additional survey
data to be collected and mapped will include:
• Tie to established local control points.
• As -built survey new Runway 25 pavement end established at completion of
pavement break project.
• Additional topographic survey off the new Runway 25 end of pavement.
• Proposed runway threshold/end clear approach field verification
Task 2 Work Items:
1. Supplemental Topographical Survey Services
This task includes the following:
+ Validate horizontal and vertical control that was completed as part of the Airfield
Environmental Assessment project. Re-establish horizontal and vertical control as
necessary. Horizontal and vertical control shall be tied into horizontal (NAD
83(2011)) and vertical control (NAVD 88) points used for the previous topographic
survey effort. Validate one benchmark for elevation control and a minimum of two
additional points for horizontal control. Utilize Airport PACs and/or SACS if
available.
• Conduct topographic surveying for the Runway 25 end of pavement:
o Determine the location and elevation of the end of runway pavement at runway
centerline;
o Determine the location and elevation of the end of runway pavement at the
outermost edges of runway pavement;
o Determine the location and elevation of the end of runway pavement at 25 -foot
increments along the end of pavement.
4of11
