The Museum seeks funding to suppori advertising for general awareness of its exhibit rotation, the lecture series, r,ralking tours, and special events. The advertising links our projects to ongoing projects and events in the county in order to provide a wider audience. The elhibits connect with places, people, events and activities throughout the County. One event in 2O2O is the "Women's History Month: Notable Women in Kittitas County's Past" exhibit. This looks at various uomen throughoui Kiftitas County, including all communities and all ethnic groups and cultures that have been part of Kittitas County. lt includes all groups and historical moments, past and present. lt incorporates our lecture series, rrralking tour program, other organizations and partnerships. lt also includes a secondary erfribit on Mary Ellen Shoudy, the Mother of Ellensburg. Another efiibit similarly is on the 40th anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. This iragic event tied the community together and impacted more than just one area. lt is still covered today and can be vievrired upon local landscape. This will also be reflected in the lecture series and through partnerships with the university and area museums. There are other events that are collaborated Wih throughout Ellensburg and Kittitas County. For example, rive partner with organizations like the Roslyn Museum, the Roslyn-Ronald-Cle Elum Heritage Club to further develop our cemetery projects and community connection. We also try to include information in our e*ribits about other displays, like with Cle Elum or Vantage io direct visitors to those museums or areas for more informaiion. Our Lecture Series includes presentations on various aspects of Kittitas County history, such as geology, Native American history, and interesting tidbits of local lore and legend. Presenters encourage the participants to visit locations throughout the County, and brochures are provided to further encourage visitors and event attendees. The Walking Tours also highlight community history. Often the tour guides discuss the surrounding communities, and \,r-- provide copies of self-guided ualking tour maps for CIe Elum and Roslyn Cemetery for those who participate. We also correlaie information in Ellensburg to that of its neighboring communities, such as our Haunted Legends discuss Thorp and Roslyn.
