{)' AGENDA SESSION DATE ACTION REQUESTED: KITTITAS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT March 3,2026 Request to Approve a resolution submittal of an Airport Aid application for grant match funding to Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation Division for Bowers Field projects. BACKGROUND: INTERACTION RECOMMENDATION: HANDLING: ATTACHMENTS: LEAD STAFF: Kittitas County has a pending grant award from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for two projects at Bowers Field. This includes the Hangar Taxilane Complex Construction and the Apron and Taxiway Pavement Maintenance Design. The FAA grant award amount for the hangar taxilane project is estimated to be $902,500.00 and the FAA grant award amount for the pavement maintenance is estimated to be $95,000'00. These grants through the FAA require a five percent (5%) match for each project. Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Aviation Division has posted notice of grant opportunities to assist with matching funds, reducing the County required match to two and one-half percent (25%).If the grant is awarded through WSDOT, County matching funds for the hangar taxilane project would be reduced to 523,750.00 and the matching funds for the pavement maintenance project would be reduced to $2,500.00' Matching funds are available in the Airport Fund. As part of the grant application to WSDOT Aviation, a resolution supporting the application and guaranteeing availability of matching grant funds is required.
