ii,! <br />KITTITAS COTINTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />March 3,2026 <br />Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />Signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the Corridor Improvements Countywide <br />Project CP.P 323-26. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />INTERACTION: <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />HANDLING: <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />The Corridor Improvements Countywide Project was <br />selected to receive Federal Funding through the Highway <br />Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). HSIP funding is <br />administered through the Washington State Department of <br />Transportation (WSDOT). Eight road segments have been <br />identified as high risk by the 2025 Safety Plan as well as <br />past safety plans. To better prevent future fatal and serious <br />injury accidents, Kittitas County plans to design and install <br />improvements including embedded LED markers, <br />guideposts and edge line rumble strips on portions of the <br />identified roadways. <br />This project is eligible for 100% Federal Funding for all <br />phases authorized prior to April 30, 2028. <br />This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding for the <br />Preliminary Engineering phase of the project. <br />Public Works is preparing to perform the preliminary <br />engineering with County staff, including survey, <br />environmental permitting, and design. <br />Public Works <br />Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Corridor Improvements Countywide Project CRP 323-26. <br />Retum one original to Public Works <br />Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />Josh Fredrickson, Public Works DirectorLEAD STAFF:
