<br /> <br />Public Health Study Session <br />January 28, 2026 <br />at 10:00 am <br />Commissioners’ Conference Room <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Laura Osiadacz (chair), Brett Wachsmith, Cory Wright <br /> <br />Others: Chelsey Loeffers, Candi Blackford, Kasey Knutson <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by Laura Osiadacz <br /> <br />No citizens present for public comment <br /> <br />Department Business <br />All Staff Retreat Half Day Office Closure Resolution Request for Approval <br />Chelsey Loeffers noted the health department closes annually for its All-Staff Retreat. This year the <br />department would like to close for half the day to get staff the necessary annual training. Ms. Loeffers <br />asked for approval of resolution to authorize the closure of the Kittitas County Public Health Department <br />on February 20, 2026, for annual staff training <br /> <br />01.01: Motion to approve Resolution 2026-013 to Authorize the Closure of the Kittitas County Public <br />Health Department on February 20, 2026. Brett Wachsmith moved to approve Resolution 2026-013 to <br />Authorize the Closure of the Kittitas County Public Health Department on February 20, 2026. Laura <br />Osiadacz second. All approved. Motion 01.01 carried to approve Resolution 2026-013 to Authorize the <br />Closure of the Kittitas County Public Health Department on February 20, 2026. <br /> <br />Human Services Plans Request for Approval <br />Kasey Knutson discussed a project proposal from Robin Read and asked the commissioners for approvals <br />on the following project proposals: <br />• Creation of a two-year strategic plan for 1/10th of 1% mental health and substance use disorder <br />prevention <br />• Update of the Kittitas County Developmental Disabilities Plan 2026-2028 <br />• Creation of an action plan for the Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee based on <br />the 2025-2030 Local Homeless Plan for Kittitas County <br />There was discussion and the Commissioners would like to be updated on plans that are created to <br />make sure that they align with county goals. Discussed quarterly updates would be fine. <br /> <br />
