Excused: Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Shelise Smithgatl, Administrative Assistant; Mandy Buchholz, <br />Office Administrator; Stephanie Hartung, Chief Civil Deputy <br />Prosecutor; Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director; Kady <br />Porterfield, Event Center Director; Cameron Curtis, Engineer and one <br />member of the public. <br />PI'BLIC HEARING DRY CAMPING RJATES E\ZENT CENTER <br />At 2:00 p.m. <br />amending the <br />CHAIRMAI{ OSIADACZ opened a <br />Klttitas County Fair's Dry <br />Public Hearing to consider <br />Camping Rates. <br />I(ADY PORTERFIELD, KITTITAS VALLEY E\IENT CENTER DIRECTOR, revj-ewed a <br />Staff Report and explained that at the April 1, 2025 Pubfic Hearing <br />the Kittitas County Fair's Dry Camping Rates were presented in error <br />and should have been presented as a daily charge. She explained the <br />amendment to the dry camping rates to charge a $40.00 a night rate <br />for the Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo event, noting that <br />this is a $10.00 per night increase from the pricing that has been <br />in place over the last t2 years. <br />THOSE PRESENT e REQITESTING TO TESTIFY: MICHELLE SCHOOK, Kittitas <br />County resident, conlmented that she was a 4-H exhibitor at the <br />Kittj-tas County Fair for 10 years and now has a child that is an <br />exhibitor. She mentioned that she had previously sent her concerns <br />in a letter to Kady Porterfield, Event Center Director. Ms. Schook <br />stated that she is opposed to the rate increase and asked the Board <br />of County Commissioners to justify this i-ncrease. VICE-CHAIRf'IAII <br />I{RIGHT asked KADY PORTERFIELD, Event Center Director, to clarify <br />when the rates were last increased. She stated that the last <br />increase was 12 years d9o, in 2013. <br />RESOLUTTON 2025-109 DRY CAMPING EVENT CENTER <br />VICE-CHAIRIIA]MRIGHT moved to approve Resolution No. 2025-109' <br />Resoluti-on to adopt an Amendment to the Dry Camping Rate at the <br />Kittitas County Fair.
