AGENDA DATE: December 15, 2020
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Rescinding $56,439 in
Highway Infrastructure funds to Kittitas County Public
Works Pursuant to Resolution 2020-049; Leaving $73,143
in award to Public Works.
BACKGROUND: Resolution 2020-049 made available Highway
Infrastructure funding to Public Works. Of the $129,582
awarded in Resolution 2020-049, Public Works saved
$56,439 in 2020 construction costs that can now be
reallocated for regional transportation urban improvement.
The money saved is proposed to fund a portion of the
University Way/Reecer Creek Road signal.
INTERACTION: Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to rescind $56,439 in urban
Highway Infrastructure funding provided to Public Works
in Resolution 2020-050.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.

RESOLUTION NO. 2020 -
RESCINDING $56,439 IN HIGHWAY INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM FUNDS TO
KITTITAS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS PURSUANT TO
RESOLUTION 2020-049 LEAVING $73,143 IN AWARD TO PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS: Resolution 2020-049 awarded $129,582 in Highway Infrastructure Program funds
to Public Works; and
WHEREAS: Public Works saved $56,439 in 2020 project construction costs; and
WHEREAS: Public Works desires making the $56,439 available to the City of Ellensburg
supporting the signalization of the University Way/Reecer Creek Road
intersection;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby rescind $56,439 in Highway Infrastructure Program funds
awarded in Resolution 2020-049 and retains the balance as awarded to Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the $56,439 be made available to the City of Ellensburg
should they elect to request funding towards the signalization of the University Way/Reecer
Creek Road intersection.
