03/25/2020 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM EMERGENCY SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 1:00 P.M. MARCH 25, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith (via phone); Vice-
Chairman Laura Osiadacz (via phone) and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Nate Hall, Service Desk
Specialist; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Lisa Young, Human Resource Director
and Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I (via phone).
EMERGENCY SPECIAL COVID-19 COMMISSIONERS
At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened an Emergency Special Meeting
to discuss issues relating to the COVID-19 situation.

Clay Myers, Sheriff said he has scheduled briefings to be on
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. with members of the Management
Team to begin a formal process of sharing information for non-EOC
government functions. He said the Commissioners were welcome to put
items on the briefing Agendas too. He updated the Board on State
closures from the DNR, DFW, and Parks.

There was discussion on the construction industry and exceptions
relating to the Health Order. They are currently waiting for clarity
from the Governor’s office for those projects that are already
permitted, noting our Public Health Officer didn’t comment on it in
his Health Order. Chairman Wachsmith said he wanted to be sure the
Board was on the same page and working together because there seems
to be some miscommunication about which Commissioner has been
working on certain projects.

Commissioner Wright said the emergency webpage was almost complete.
Commissioner Osiadacz said she was unclear about the expectations
and budget in reference to the company who is working on the
emergency webpage and how they were working without a contract.
Commissioner Wright said he asked Judy Pless, Budget & Finance
Manager had said the funding could be covered under Emergency
Management. He offered to follow up with Deputy Prosecutor Hartung
and Jim Goeben, IT Director.

Sheriff Myers suggested the Board publish a message about the mental
health aspect of sheltering at home. Chairman Wachsmith said he’d
prepare something for employees and bring it back for the Board to
consider.
