03/25/2020 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM EMERGENCY SPECIAL MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY 1:00 P.M. MARCH 25, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith (via phone); Vice- <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz (via phone) and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Nate Hall, Service Desk <br />Specialist; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Lisa Young, Human Resource Director <br />and Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I (via phone). <br /> EMERGENCY SPECIAL COVID-19 COMMISSIONERS <br />At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened an Emergency Special Meeting <br />to discuss issues relating to the COVID-19 situation. <br /> <br />Clay Myers, Sheriff said he has scheduled briefings to be on <br />Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. with members of the Management <br />Team to begin a formal process of sharing information for non-EOC <br />government functions. He said the Commissioners were welcome to put <br />items on the briefing Agendas too. He updated the Board on State <br />closures from the DNR, DFW, and Parks. <br /> <br />There was discussion on the construction industry and exceptions <br />relating to the Health Order. They are currently waiting for clarity <br />from the Governor’s office for those projects that are already <br />permitted, noting our Public Health Officer didn’t comment on it in <br />his Health Order. Chairman Wachsmith said he wanted to be sure the <br />Board was on the same page and working together because there seems <br />to be some miscommunication about which Commissioner has been <br />working on certain projects. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright said the emergency webpage was almost complete. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz said she was unclear about the expectations <br />and budget in reference to the company who is working on the <br />emergency webpage and how they were working without a contract. <br />Commissioner Wright said he asked Judy Pless, Budget & Finance <br />Manager had said the funding could be covered under Emergency <br />Management. He offered to follow up with Deputy Prosecutor Hartung <br />and Jim Goeben, IT Director. <br /> <br />Sheriff Myers suggested the Board publish a message about the mental <br />health aspect of sheltering at home. Chairman Wachsmith said he’d <br />prepare something for employees and bring it back for the Board to <br />consider. <br />
