KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: March 5, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award Fehr & <br />Peers the Contract for Upper County Traffic Task <br />Force Modeling Services and Authorize the <br />Director of Public Works to negotiate scope of work <br />and fee not to exceed $50,000 and sign said <br />professional services contract. <br />BACKGROUND: The Upper County Traffic Task Force has <br />expressed the need for traffic modeling on I-90 and <br />adjacent local roadways. Public Works produced a <br />Statement of Qualifications that seeks to hire a <br />consultant for such planning services. The Board of <br />County Commissioners directed Public Works <br />advertise for professional planning services by <br />issuing a Request for Qualifications in the local <br />paper of record. One (1) qualified firms responded <br />to the request for qualifications process closing on <br />February 21, 2019. A review committee of Public <br />Works evaluated the proposal and reviewers have <br />selected Fehr & Peers as the preferred firm <br />providing Upper County Traffic Task Force <br />modeling services. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution to Award Fehr & Peers the <br />Contract for Upper County Traffic Task Force <br />Modeling Services and Authorize the Director of <br />Public Works to negotiate scope of work and fee <br />not to exceed $50,000 and sign said professional <br />services contract. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
