06/16/2026 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 2:00 P.M. JUNE 16, 2026 <br /> <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith and <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. Excused: Chairman Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy Buchholz, Office <br />Administrator; Chad Bala, CDS Director; Nancy Shaff, Chief <br />Administrative Deputy; Stephanie Hartung, Chief Civil Deputy <br />Prosecutor; Jeremy Johnston, Planner II – Long Range; Kasey Knutson, <br />Josh Fredrickson, Mindy Delozier, Accounting Assistant III; and 2 <br />members of the public. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING TITLE III FUNDS SHERIFF <br /> <br />At 2:00 p.m. VICE-CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH opened a Public Hearing to <br />consider the use of Title III Funds to Improve/Update Kittitas <br />County Search and Rescue Equipment. <br /> <br />NANCY SHAFF, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE DEPUTY, explained how Kittitas <br />County’s received just over $40,000.00 Title III funds from the US <br />Forest Service through Washington State. She said it was their <br />intention to use the funds to improve/update equipment within their <br />Search and Rescue Division. <br /> <br />THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE <br />HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING CDBG PUBLIC SERVICE FUNDS PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />At 2:01 p.m. VICE-CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH opened a Public Hearing to <br />consider community development and housing needs, inform citizens of <br />the availability of funds and eligible use of the State Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) and receive comments on proposed <br />activities. <br /> <br />TASHA MAXWELL, HOPESOURCE UNIVERSITY, provided an update on how <br />they’ve been utilizing the funds for client’s lifestyle and <br />education ranging from high school students to senior citizens. <br /> <br />MINDY DELOZIER, ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT III, mentioned she went to the <br />workshops and learned about what they are doing, but asked how their <br />courses work with foreclosures and what resources are available for <br />individuals. <br />
