KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM JANUARY 26, 2026 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith, and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Arden Thomas, Lisa Godden, Public Works; <br />Chad Bala, Community Development Services; Stephanie Hartung, <br />Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office; 1 member of the public. <br />At 1:30 PM Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Pat Kelleher expressed that he would like to participate in the vault <br />toilet placement and design at the fishing pond; He also shared <br />concerns regarding prior Bowers Field Airport and incubator building <br />transactions. <br />2025 KITTITAS COUNTY AIRPORT ANNUAL REPORT <br />Joshua Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on the <br />2025 Annual Report from the Airport Advisory Committee. Joshua <br />Fredrickson advised of accomplishments regarding development, <br />operations, maintenance, long -terms goals and funding. Joshua <br />Fredrickson highlighted efforts to develop a wildlife hazard <br />evaluation and management plan which has already been adopted by the <br />Board of County Commissioners; Obtaining a Carb Loan to extend <br />electrical service to hangar areas; the Hangar Taxi -lane project; <br />Ongoing partnership with Central Washington University for foreign <br />object debris awareness walks to clean up debris; Finalizing <br />controlled burns, reducing habitat of small critters; Economic <br />Development focusing on leasing, marketing and developing airport <br />business/industrial land with the goal to increase lease revenue and <br />reduce reliance on FAA and General Fund dollars. <br />Chairman Cory Wright thanked Joshua Fredrickson for his work on <br />airport operations and business development and recognized airport <br />land as a key economic development asset. <br />2026-01-26 MINUTES <br />
