KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 6, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the Resolution to Ratify the <br />Chair's Signature on Community Rating System <br />Verification Form CC-230. <br />BACKGROUND: The Community Rating System is a program <br />offered by the National Flood Insurance Program <br />which rewards communities that implement certain <br />activities to reduce the impacts of flooding with <br />lower flood insurance rates. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County was accepted into the program in <br />2014 as a Class 6 community and this rating was <br />maintained during the 2019 program audit. Due to <br />the County's participation in the program, residents <br />receive a 20% discount on standard flood insurance <br />policy rates. <br />Every 5-years, FEMA conducts a full verification <br />visit to evaluate Kittitas County's CRS activities, <br />credit, and rating.
