KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: July 19, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the Vantage Highway Over Cascade Canal <br />(Bridge 89342) Replacement. <br />BACKGROUND: On January 4, 2022, Kittitas County Public Works was <br />advised that the Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal <br />(Bridge 89342) Replacement Project was selected to <br />receive funding through the Surface Transportation Block <br />Grant (STBG) Regional Federal Funds Program. <br />On July 11, 2022, Kittitas County Public Works was <br />notified that an additional $968,008.00 would be available <br />for the project through STBG if we presented the funding <br />package for construction no later than September 1, 2022. <br />Staff has scheduled to construct this project over the Winter <br />season of 2022 — 2023. <br />Public Works is preparing to solicit for construction in <br />August 2022. This requires the Local Agency Federal Aid <br />Project Prospectus to be signed and approved by the Chair <br />of the BOCC prior to sending to WSDOT for approval. <br />This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding for the <br />construction phase and needs to be approved by WSDOT <br />Local Programs prior to solicitation for bids. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal (Bridge 89342) <br />Replacement. <br />HANDLING: Return two (2) originals to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
