Agreement No. SWMWRRED-2022-KiCoSW-00023 <br />SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING EDUCATION AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN <br />THE STATE OF WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY <br />AND <br />KITTITAS COUNTY SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT <br />This is a binding Agreement entered into by and between the state of Washington , Department of Ecology, hereinafter <br />referred to as “ECOLOGY,” and KITTITAS COUNTY SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT, hereinafter referred to as the <br />“RECIPIENT,” to carry out with the provided funds activities described herein. <br />Kittitas Co SW <br />GENERAL INFORMATION <br />Project Title: <br />Total Cost: <br />Total Eligible Cost: <br />Ecology Share: <br />Recipient Share: <br />The Effective Date of this Agreement is: <br />The Expiration Date of this Agreement is no later than: <br />Project Type: <br />Project Short Description: <br />Kittitas County will spend $46,500.00 to identify contamination in the County's drop box recycling containers located at <br />the transfer stations and address common forms of contamination, as well as encourage general waste reduction through <br />multiple forms of outreach and education to improve the County's recyclables marketability and waste reduction <br />practices with a focus on organics and edible food waste . <br />Project Long Description: <br />To reach the goal of fifty percent food waste reduction by 2030, set by RCW 70A.205.715, RECIPIENT will increase <br />education on responsible consumer practices and public outreach to the community via communications, media <br />campaigns and outreach to schools.
