KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE: February 1, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution selecting TranTech <br />Engineering LLC for Design of the Replacement of <br />Bridge #89342 Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal <br />and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and <br />execute a Local Agency A & E Professional Services <br />Agreement for the same, CRP 310-21. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />BACKGROUND: On December 21, 2021, the Kittitas County Board of <br />County Commissioners authorized advertisement of a <br />request for qualifications for design of the replacement <br />of bridge #89342 Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal. <br /> <br />Four (4) submittals were received by the closing date of <br />January 13, 2022. The submittals were scored by Public <br />Works, and the selected submittal is from TranTech <br />Engineering LLC. After formal selection the Public <br />Works Director will be authorized to negotiate and <br />execute a Local Agency A & E Professional Services <br />Agreement with TranTech Engineering LLC. <br /> <br />The design and engineering phase of this project will we <br />completed with American Rescue Plan funding. The <br />goal is to have the Engineering completed and the <br />project ready for construction during the Winter of 2022- <br />2023. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution selecting TranTech Engineering <br />LLC for design of the Replacement of Bridge #89342 <br />Vantage Highway over Cascade Canal and authorize the <br />Public Works Director to negotiate and execute a Local <br />Agency A & E Professional Services Agreement for the <br />same, CRP 310-21. <br /> <br />HANDLING: One (1) Original - Public Works <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Public Works Director
