KITTITAS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: August 3, 2021 ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Special Event Application on August 23, 2021 for the Tarp-It Inc. Company Party from 6:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. BACKGROUND: The Commissioners office received a Special Event Application on July 7, 2021 from Tim Ravet requesting permission to host the Tarp-It Company Appreciation Party on August 23, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m. INTERACTION: The applicant is requesting a waiver to the Penal Bond - Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Penal Bond – Bond of Indemnity. The applicant is requesting a waiver to Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours. The permit fee has been paid and Staff has routed the application and received a recommendation of approval or contingent approval from the following departments: Sheriff, Public Health, Public Works, Solid Waste, Prosecutor, Treasurer and Fire Marshal. (Specific comments may be seen in the Department Memo’s attached). RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application from Tim Ravet to host his Company Appreciation Party on August 23, 2021 with the following contingencies: Public Health/EH: Reminder/Information  As long as there is follow through with the stewardship plan and that a food permit be obtained (2 weeks prior).  Bathroom facilities: 6 provided for the first 500 and 1 additional for every 500 attendees thereafter (350 anticipated).  Adequate Solid Waste Plan – Large bin provided by Waste Mgmt. Public Works: Information  Do not block the right of way on County Roads. Sheriff: Contingent  Confirmation that there will be ample licensed security at the function.  Timely notice to all affected neighbors.
