KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 1, 2021 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve the Resolution to Award the Contract for <br />the Vantage Highway Project MP 21.25 — MP 27.5 1, CRP <br />298-19, and allow the Public Works Director to execute the <br />same. <br />BACKGROUND: On November 5, 2019, the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners (BOCC) approved resolution 2019-160 <br />initiating County Road Project (CRP 298-19) <br />On November 3, 2020, the BOCC signed resolution 2020-185 <br />awarding a Local Agency Agreement with KPG P.S for the <br />design and environmental permitting for the Vantage <br />Highway Project <br />On April 26, 2021, the BOCC approved a Notice of Call for <br />sealed bids for the construction of said project. Sealed bids <br />were opened publicly on May 20, 2021 at Kittitas County <br />Public Works. <br />The project is being funded through the Rural Arterial <br />Program (RAP), the Highway Safety Improvement Program <br />(HSIP) and Local Public Works Funds <br />The engineers estimate for the project was $4,133,052.00. <br />There were four (4) qualified bids received, with the lowest <br />bid being Interstate Concrete and Asphalt in the amount of <br />$3,447,921.00. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Award the Contract for the <br />Vantage Highway Project MP 21.25 — MP 27.5 1, CRP 298-19 <br />to Interstate Concrete and Asphalt for $3,447,921.00, and <br />authorize the Public Works Director to execute the contract on <br />behalf of the Board. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Bid Tab <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director. <br />
