KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE, MAINTENANCE, AND FAIR OFFICE STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 2:00 PM March 13, 2018 <br />Board members present: Commissioner Paul Jewell, Vice Chairman Obie O'Brien <br />Absent: Chairman Laura Osiadacz excused. <br />Others: Patti Johnson, Lisa Lawrence, Tim Egan, Jill Scheffer, Lisa Young, Bruce Tabb <br />Regular Meeting Annual Biosolids Report <br />Solid Waste <br />Meeting called to order at 2:00 p.m. Patti Johnson requested to ratify Commissioner Jewell's <br />signature on 2017 Annual Biosolids Report. Commissioner Jewell moved to approve. <br />Commissioner O'Brien seconded. Motion carried 2-0. <br />Regular Meeting Ecology Grant Funding <br />Elmview Recycling <br />Solid Waste <br />Discussion was held on the Department of Ecology Grant Funding status and Elmview <br />Recycling. Discussion included adding another task in the amount of $25,000.00 per year to the <br />current grant cycle to help promote and preserve Elmview Paper Recycling in the Community <br />and the possibility of adding additional hours on Saturdays. The Board directed Patti to move <br />forward with the Grant and a Contract with Elmview for Board review. <br />Regular Meeting Other Business Solid Waste <br />Patti informed the Board that there will be another open house on April 9"' for the new Transfer <br />Station siting project with a Special Meeting scheduled with the Board on April I Ota' to discuss. <br />Regular Meeting Courthouse Project -Cost Maintenance <br />Estimate <br />Patti informed the Board that the estimate came in above budget and that she has scheduled a <br />walk through to look at options. <br />Regular Meeting McKinstry Jail <br />Maintenance Agreement <br />Maintenance <br />Patti made a recommendation to the Board to discontinue the Maintenance Agreement with <br />McKinstry, stating that it is an unnecessary cost and that the Department staff as a team could <br />handle it.
