KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 4, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve two Special Event Applications <br />authorizing Richard Hoyt to host the 2020 Washington State <br />Sporting Clay Championships from June 25 – 28, 2020 and <br />the Cascade Challenge from July 31 – August 2, 2020. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Commissioners office received a Special Event <br />Application from Richard Hoyt to the 2020 Washington <br />State Sporting Clay Championships from June 25 – 28, 2020 <br />and the Cascade Challenge from July 31 – August 2, 2020 <br />(7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.). <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The applicant is requesting a waiver to the Penal Bond - <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Penal Bond – Bond <br />of Indemnity. <br /> <br /> The applicant is not requesting a waiver to Kittitas County <br />Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours. <br /> <br /> The permit fee has been paid and Staff has routed the <br />application and received a recommendation of approval or <br />contingent approval from the following departments: Sheriff, <br />Public Health, Public Works, Solid Waste, Prosecutor, <br />Auditor and Fire Marshal. (Specific comments may be seen <br />in the Department Memo’s attached). <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application Richard Hoyt to the <br />2020 Washington State Sporting Clay Championships from <br />June 25 – 28, 2020 and the Cascade Challenge from July 31 <br />– August 2, 2020 (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.). With the following <br />contingencies: <br /> <br />Public Works: <br /> Public Notice given two weeks before the event to <br />notify local residents of the upcoming event. <br /> <br />Fire Marshal: <br /> Mr. Hoyt must schedule his annual fire & life safety <br />inspection for 2020 between now and June, noting <br />that they must receive a passing inspection. <br /> <br />Auditor: <br /> Based upon review of the applications for the 2020 <br />Washington State Sporting Clay Championships from <br />June 25 – 28, 2020 and the Cascade Challenge from <br />July 31 – August 2, 2020, this event would be exempt
