KITTITAS COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 MONDAY 1:30 PM AUGUST 10, 2026 Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith and Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz. Others: Joshua Fredrickson, Lisa Godden, Kittitas County Public Works; Stephanie Hartung, Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office; and 1 member of the public. At 1:30 PM Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Public Works Study Session. NO CITIZEN COMMENTS REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR AS INTERIM ACTING COUNTY ENGINEER FOR AN ADDITIONAL SIX MONTHS. Joshua Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on the request to extend the Public Works Director as interim acting County Engineer for an additional six-month period. Joshua Fredrickson stated the County Engineer position remained vacant, recruitment efforts were continuing with Human Resources, and the County Road Administration Board had been informed of the requested extension. The Board discussed the continuing recruitment process and the possible deputy director position. Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz motioned to approve Resolution 2026-139 extending the Public Works Director as Interim Acting County Engineer for an additional six months. Chairman Brett Wachsmith seconded the Motion. Motion passed. REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHAIR SIGNATURE ON BILLS OF SALE FOR THE PROPERTY EXCHANGE BETWEEN THE CITY OF ELLENSBURG, CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY AND KITTITAS COUNTY. Joshua Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on the proposed property exchange among the City of Ellensburg, Central Washington University, and Kittitas County.
