2024-10-11 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BUDGET MEETING MINUTES <br />BOCC AUDITORIUM ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 215 - ELLENSBURG <br /> <br /> <br />Friday 9:00AM October 11, 2024 <br /> <br />Board members present: Cory Wright, Laura Osiadacz, ( Brett Wachsmith absent) <br />Staff: Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance Director, Bryan Elliott, Auditor, Zack DeHaven, <br />Andrew Yoder, Doug Fessler, Zane Kinney, Grant Shimada, Patti Stacey, Jeanne Kilgore, Amy <br />Cziske, Treasurer, Darren Higashiyama, Nancy Shaff, Kady Porterfield <br />1. Call to order: 9:00am <br /> <br />2. Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit): None <br /> <br />3. 2025 Preliminary Budget Meetings- Capital, Projects, Equipment <br /> <br />Mr. Carlson reminds the room of the $10MM problem with a 3-year runway. <br /> <br />Zack DeHaven discusses the Requested Projects for 2025. Each project is listed with the <br />amount of funding needed and or to be determined. Equipment requests are also listed. <br />Commission Wright requested clarification regarding the new transfer station, it was confirmed <br />that there is no General Fund money being requested. <br /> <br />Kady Porterfield discusses the Event Center projects. The Grandstand Replacement project is <br />requesting $3M from the Lodging Tax Fund. Barn sound system is hoping to be funded by the <br />Law and Justice Grant. Expo Hall Doors can be extended out for next year asks if needed. <br /> <br />Jail repair project is consolidated to include Architect services. Total ask is $5,500,00 to be <br />funded by the jail reserve. Sheriff’s office projects are listed out. Commissioner Wright asked for <br />more details regarding the new Generator. The current generator is failing and considered a <br />security concern. <br /> <br />Other Properties projects were discussed. Including Solid Waste projects. The New Transfer <br />Station only needs an additional $214,340 in funding. <br /> <br />Equipment requests are listed by department. <br />
