KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 20, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution authorizing the Public <br />Works Director to Execute Lease Agreements at Bowers <br />Field. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County is the airport sponsor of Bowers Field with <br />Public Works having the responsibility to manage leases <br />for County owned land and structures including T-hangars. <br />Lease types at the airport include T-Hangar, land and <br />agricultural. Occasionally short-term leases, less than 1- <br />year duration, are requested. Kittitas County Code <br />2.81.060(4) authorizes lease approvals to be delegated by <br />resolution. <br />Current lease agreements require Board action to approve. <br />T-Hangar leases are a standard lease previously approved <br />to form and utilizing rates previously adopted by the Board. <br />To process T-Hangar, T-Hangar amendments and short- <br />term leases in an efficient and short duration, Public Works <br />has the capacity and knowledge necessary to evaluate and <br />execute T-Hangar lease agreements, amendments and <br />short-term lease agreements. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution authorizing the Public Works <br />Director to execute T-Hangar leases, T-Hangar lease <br />amendments and short-term leases at Bowers Field. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
