KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: July 16, 2024
ACTION REQUESTED: Authorize Issuing a Statement of Qualifications soliciting qualified
firms for the provision of high-speed broadband internet service in the
County using the BEAD Program.
BACKGROUND: Funding for deployment of high-speed internet (broadband) services
to unserved and underserved areas will become available through the
National Telecommunications and Information Administration
(NTIA) Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program.
The US Treasury released the Notice of Financial Offering (NOFO)
which states the national guidance for BEAD. Public Works is anticipating a
partnership with a provider, allowing the County to obtain match
funding. Public Works has been working with the County's
broadband consultant for development of this phase. Public Works is
now prepared to solicit for statement of qualifications from firms
qualified to perform the work.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Issuing a Statement of Qualifications soliciting qualified
firms for the provision of high-speed broadband internet service in the
County using the BEAD Program.
HANDLING: Return One original to Public Works
ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Statement of Qualifications; Statement of Qualifications
LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Director
