KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE AND MAINTENANCE MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 2:00 PM I Apr 2024 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz Vice- Chairman at <br />2:04 p.m., and Cory Wright Commissioner <br />Others: Patti Stacey, Lisa Lawrence, and Christopher Whitsett <br />Call to Order at 2:00 p.m. <br />Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit) None <br />Request Chair's Signature on Ellensburg Rodeo Arena Improvements Proposal for Project <br />Reduction Study: Patti briefed the Board on the project with ALSC Architects. Commissioner <br />Wright moved to approve the Chair's Signature on the Ellensburg Rodeo Arena Improvements <br />Proposal for Project Reduction Study. Chairman Brett Wachsmith seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried 2-0. <br />Request Board Approval to move forward with hiring a cleaning service for the Sheriff's <br />Office: Patti informed the Board that two quotes were obtained for 8 hours of cleaning at the <br />Sheriff's office. Patti told the Board that she worked with Human Resources on the cost of hiring <br />a part time position for 20 hours per week that could cover additional needs. The Board directed <br />staff to hire a part-time position. <br />Discussion on Grant Opportunity: Discussion was held on the Historic County Courthouse <br />Rehabilitation Grant opportunity. The Board opted to wait and look into it in the future. <br />Update on Kittitas County Courthouse Sidewalk Improvements: Patti presented the Board <br />with the plans for the Courthouse sidewalk improvements. Discussion was held on taking the <br />stairs out and losing three parking spots. Further discussion was held on looking into a towing <br />contract so time limit parking signs could be posted. <br />Request Board Approval to Ratify Chair's Signature on Professional Service Agreement <br />with Tenelco: Patti updated the Board on the Septage Lagoons at Ryegrass and the approval <br />from the Department of Ecology for spring land application of septage. Vice Chairman Osiadacz <br />moved to approve Chair's signature on the Professional Service Agreement with Tenelco. <br />Commissioner Wright seconded the motion.
