BOARD OF COUNTYCOMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF Kittitas STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO.: 2021-___ Authorization to Issue Check to Shady Acres Residents Pursuant to RCW 59.20.080(1)(e)(iii)Whereas,Kittitas County owns and rents out property at the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has decided at its early November agenda session to close the park as of December 31, 2022; and WHEREAS,RCW 59.20.080(1)(e)(iii) authorizes a landlord of a mobile home park under a closure notice (which Shady Acres is) to present checks to tenants owning their own units in the current assessed value and give them notice to vacate the premises in not less than ninety (90) days; and WHEREAS,at this early November agenda session, the BOCC decided to pay the tenants who owned their own units the greater of $6,000 or the assessed value, and to provide notice for them to vacate by August 15, 2022; and WHEREAS,the attached printout shows the current assessed value of the tenant-owned units in Shady Acres. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners authorizes the execution of checks in the amount of $6,000 each to each tenant whose unit is assessed at an amount less than that and check in the amount of the assessed value of the units for those valued in excess of $6,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Auditor is directed to issue these checks.
