10/05/2020 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 9:00 A.M. OCTOBER 5, 2020 Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Cory Wright, Commissioner. (via WebEx) Others Via WebEx: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Lisa Young, HR Director; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager and one member of the public. REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration meeting. CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendars. PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS The Board of County Commissioners approved the County Vouchers and PAF’s. CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS The Correspondence Log for the week ending October 2, 2020 was presented. DISCUSSION PUBLIC RELATIONS ADMIN POSTING SHERIFF Clay Myers, Sherriff discussed concerns and suggested language for the Board to consider in lieu of what was proposed for the Public Relations Administrator Job Description (*during emergency/disaster situations, manage the dissemination of prompt, accurate public information in coordination with other County Public Information Officers). There was discussion on preferred language and the Board and Sheriff came to an agreement on the following language: During Emergency Disaster situations, to coordinate with the Emergency Operations Center in the dissemination of prompt accurate, public information and provide assistance to the PIO as determined by the Incident Commander as needed. The BoCC & Sheriff felt that would take care of the Sheriff’s concerns. Ms. Young stated that they can review that with whoever is selected to fill the open position.
