KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 4, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Vantage Highway Project, CRP 298-19. <br />BACKGROUND: On December 19, 2019, Kittitas County Public Works was <br />advised by Washington State Department of Transportation <br />(WSDOT) that our Vantage Highway Project was selected <br />to receive funding through the Highway Safety <br />Improvement Program (HSIP) for the installation of <br />guardrail. <br />This project will be combined with an asphalt overlay that <br />will happen concurrently in the same location with funding <br />through the Rural Arterial Program. <br />This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding portion <br />for the (HSIP) design phase and needs to be approved by <br />WSDOT Local Programs. The approval needs to happen so <br />WSDOT can evaluate the need to assign Kittitas County an <br />Underutilized Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (UDBE) <br />participation commitment goal prior to advertisement for <br />design services. <br />Public Works is preparing to solicit for design services in <br />March of 2020. This requires the Local Agency Federal <br />Aid Project Prospectus to be signed and approved by the <br />Chair of the BOCC. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Vantage Highway Project, CRP 298-19. <br />HANDLING: Return two (2) originals to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
