Basis for Project: Whiskey -Mercer Flood Modeling <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />This project, advanced in partnership with Mid -Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, will improve water <br />quality and stream habitat and reduce flood risk along a portion of Mercer Creek west of Railroad Avenue. <br />Project components include floodplain grading, invasive tree removal, and native plant restoration. <br />FLOOD IMPACTS <br />Decreased flooding extents upstream and downstream of the Railroad Avenue crossing on Mercer Creek. <br />SCHEDULE FUNDING <br />• 2026: Surveying, Modeling, Landowner Outreach • State: Centennial Clean Water <br />• 2027: Finalize Preliminary Designs • Local: FCZD Levy <br />• Construction: TBD <br />For more project information contact Christian Preszler @ 509-962-7523 or hristian.preszler@co.kittitas.wa.us <br />
