strong salmon and steelhead benefits, such as the Lower Kittitas Reach Floodplain <br />Reconnection Project, are very successful in securing external grant funding. To date, this <br />project has been nearly fully grant funded. Additionally, funding made available by the <br />Washington Military Department, Emergency Management Division, in response to the <br />2025 flood event is being used to advance the Repetitive Loss Area Analysis (Project <br />#la) and address flow conveyance needs along Naneum Creek (Project #14d). <br />Local funding has also been critical for advancing local flood -risk reduction priorities, <br />including providing funding to the City of Ellensburg for its Reecer Creek levee project <br />and funding the design and construction of the Whiskey Creek Siphon Project. <br />Effective project partnerships help enable the FCZD to advance a robust project portfolio. <br />These partnerships have included the Kittitas County Conservation District (Whiskey <br />Creek Siphon), Mid -Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group (Lower Kittitas Reach <br />Floodplain Reconnection and Mercer Creek Flow Conveyance Restoration), and the City <br />of Ellensburg (Whiskey -Mercer Remapping and Whiskey Reroute for Flood Control and <br />Fish Passage). <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />The 6-Year Work program is used to formulate our annual work program and budget. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Exhibit 1: Flood Control Zone District 2027-2032 Capital Improvement Plan. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />PUBLIC WORKS BOARD OF COUNTY CONM4ISSIONERS WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />
