Comments to the BoCC, Easton Subarea plan -final draft June 2, 2026. My name is Gina Peckman, I am here today to express my strong support for the adoption of the Easton Subarea Plan, and to offer a genuine thank you to the people who made it happen. First, I want to recognize the CDS team, Chad Bala, and Long-Range Planner Jeremy Johnson. Along with Clay White, with Kimley Horn. What you have helped this community produce is more than a planning document, it is a genuine act of listening. Over more than 18 months of open houses, community meetings, and one-on-one conversations, you showed up for Easton and our unincorporated areas. You attended the Memorial Day parade. You came to monthly meetings. You took sticky notes seriously. That kind of commitment to a small rural community does not go unnoticed, and it matters deeply to the people who live here. So why does this plan deserve adoption? The economic development framework is exactly what Easton needs, supporting cottage industries, encouraging recreation-based businesses, and reducing barriers for small local operators, all without sacrificing the rural character our community is determined to protect. That is a difficult balance to strike, and I believe this plan strikes it well. The housing policies are thoughtful. The infrastructure goals are realistic and tied to actual funding pathways. The community resilience section takes wildfire and flooding seriously. And the implementation timeline gives us a clear, achievable roadmap. Equally important, this is a living document. As conditions change, as Easton grows, and as new opportunities and challenges emerge, this plan is designed to evolve with our community. It is a foundation, not a finish line. That flexibility is one of its greatest strengths. Most importantly, this plan reflects what Easton residents actually said. The vision that we are a community united through our rural lifestyle, our natural environment, and a place where everyone can thrive, that came directly from our neighbors. Chad, Jeremy, Clay and the entire CDS team made sure those voices are embedded in every section of this document. I urge the BoCC to adopt this plan. Easton has waited a long time for this moment. We are ready to get to work. Thank you again for your professi�n�alism, the many conversations for the last 18 months. I am sure you will enjoy a much need��0acation from this topic and dare I say from some of us. I would like my testimony to be entered into the official record of these proceedings.
