Stable crash patterns including rural location, interstate travel, and lane departure Opportunity for DUI Overtime Enforcement lmpaired driving is a direct factor in fatal crashes in Kittitas County, reinforcing the need for targeted DUI enforcement. These crashes are concentrated in rural areas, along the | 90 corridor, and during predictable high risk times such as weekends and late day hours, creating a clear opportunity for focused overtime patrols. The rise in drug and multi substance impairment adds complexity and highlights the need for enforcement strategies that address advanced DUI detection and processing. Aligning DUI overtime with peak times and locations can increase visibility, strengthen deterrence, and directly target the conditions conilibuting to fatal crashes. 3.1.2 Project Purpose and Strategies The purpose of this project is to address an increase in serious injury and fatal collisions related to alcohol and drug impairment in Kittitas County. This project will accomplish this by providing funding to the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office to support overtime pay for DUI enforcement patrols and impaired driving education to the community. 3.2 PROJECT GOALS 1) Conduct dedicated DUI patrols specifically targeting impaired driving by completing a minimum of 6 shifts each month by September 30,2026. 2) Conduct at least 1 community education and outreach activity each month, including the use of social media, by September 30, 2026. B.2.1The objectives, measrrres and timelines listed in Appendix A willbe reviewed at least annually by the designated contacts of the SUB-RECIPIENT and WTSC, and may be updated pursuant to clause 6 of this AGREEMENT. For the purposes of this section only, the pafties' DESIGNATED CONTACTS, as listed in clause 42, are authorized to execute these amendments to Appendix A. 3.3; COMPENSATION 3.3.1 The cost of accomplishing the work described in the sow will not exceed $47,080.00, for the entire period of performance, as allocated to each year of this agreement in Section 3.4 PROJECT COSTS.
