the event. Typically, more than a third of our volunteers across the country are children, and
we welcome all participants to play a part!
What to Expect as a Volunteer on National Wreaths Across America Day
As a volunteer, you will join tens of thousands across the nation in placing wreaths on the
markers of our fallen heroes. As you place each wreath, you will "say their name" to ensure
that the legacy of duty, service, and sacrifice of each veteran is never forgotten. We invite
families and volunteers of all ages to come and share in this patriotic experience!
You can play an important part in the mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve
and their families, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Join us by volunteering
at a location near you.
Location Coordination
Take the lead in honoring local veterans by volunteering as a Location Coordinator. When you
register a location for National Wreaths Across America Day each December, you commit to
organizing and managing the wreath-laying ceremony at that site with the cemetery's approval.
This includes working with Sponsorship Groups and anyone interested in participating and
ensuring the wreaths are cleaned up by the date specified by the cemetery. Your efforts ensure
that veterans in your community are remembered and honored through our nationwide
program
Locations host the wreath-laying ceremony, while Sponsorship Groups gather support through
wreath sponsorships.
Participating Locations
We welcome all locations where U.S. veterans are laid to rest, including family burial grounds,
historic sites, military cemeteries, monuments and memorials, municipal and national
cemeteries, as well as private, public, religious, state, and tribal burial grounds and gravesites.
Your participation helps ensure that all veterans are honored and remembered.
How It Works
1. Get Approval: Contact the cemetery/location to see if they are on board.
2. Sign Up: Complete the Location Sign-Up Form. Processing takes 2-3 business days.
3. Get Started: Receive a welcome email with your Location ID and all the info needed.
