A handshake dinner with the Fair and Rodeo Board will <br />follow, and all Commissioners are invited to attend. <br />Contractors were approximately one week behind in turning over <br />the arena in a usable condition. Despite this delay, we remain on <br />track for the 5 Header event. To date, the delay has only impacted <br />one barrel race originally scheduled for April 29. Upon turnover, <br />there was a significant amount of rock remaining from hauling and <br />excavation work completed to improve roadway access to the <br />arena. <br />I met with the Rodeo Grounds Director to review plans for <br />executing and funding ancillary projects resulting from the <br />construction. Current project items include: <br />■ Updated and new section signage <br />• Track fence materials and gate installation <br />• Stair nosing material and installation <br />• South grandstand gate entrance <br />Quotes are in progress, and a proposed budget will be presented for <br />review soon. <br />The Rodeo will be responsible for: <br />• Electrical upgrades to the track fence <br />• Improvements to the east end to accommodate relocated <br />vendors (due to loss of the west end) <br />Development of a new food court area <br />• Upgrades and retrofit of the Shop 6 bar for use as a <br />volunteer space <br />I will continue evaluating funding options within my budget, <br />including potential trades, to help cover costs associated with <br />fencing, gate materials, and seating signage.
