Of these 22 collisions, 17 collisions were intersection-related, while 12
collisions involved a driver exceeding the reasonably safe speed limit. Four
collisions resulted in a possible or minor injury. Two involved a vulnerable road
user.
4 Possible or minor
injury collisions
Of the 22 collisions:
17"oo,",or,"12
"oo,",oo"lnvolved a driver
exceeding the
reasonably safe
speed limit.
2
"oot"tor,"lnvolved a
vulnerable road
user.
Dedicated Turning Lanes
Roadway Lighting
Roadway
Reconfiguration
Systematic Application
of Multiple Low-Cost
Countermeasures
at Stop-Controlled
Intersections
Roundabout
lntersection t9%
lntersection 82%
lntersection
lntersection
lntersection
2s-48%
42%
Not available
$-$$$$
$-$$$$
$$$$$
$$
$
Non-Collision Concerns
Additional concerns were identified in this area through public comments,
stakeholder feedback, and observation by the County and consultants.
Concerns include:
Were
intersection-
related
. Congestion on Exit 53 off-ramp.
. lntersection confusion due
to signs that are out of sight,
limited sight distance, unclear
pavement markings, and
size of the intersection.
. Limited space due to spacing
between on-/off-ramps and SR
906/Yellowstone Road intersection.
' Lackof pedestrian connectivity
between Summit Central and
Summit West, connecting summer
and winter ski lift users to local
restaurants and businesses.
Source: SCJ, 2025.
It is important to note that due to snow-plow activity within the Snoqualmie
Pass area, recessed plastic pavement markings are recommended for
channelization. Sufficient budget must be allocated for renewing pavement
markings for the proposed solutions to be effective.
- Washington Spatial Data portal, WSDOT - Traffic Counts (AADT) Current map,
eyolore?location=41.41 7 989/"2C-1 21 .409286/") C1 6.35
t CRFsareapproximatedbasedonthedataprovidedbytheFHWAProvenSafetyCountermeasures.
f Costs are based on a preliminaryengineer's estimate of magnitude.
t8%
Countermeasure Application Crash reduction factort Cost level+
