Of these three collisions, all were related to parking, and two collisions
involved vehicle backing. One collision resulted in a possible or minor injury,
and all were vehicle-only collisions.
1 Possible or minor
collision
Of the 3 collisions:
Land Use Context
Shared Use Path
Roadway Reconfi guration
Speed Limit Reduction
Roadway Lighting
Truck Stop
Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon
Crosswalk Lighting
Crosswalk Lighting
2
"oot"torr"lnvolved vehicle
backing.
Were
vehicle-only
collisions.
All
Non-Col lision Concerns
Additional concerns were identified in this area through public comments,
stakeholder feedback, and observation by the County and consultants.
Concerns include:
All
Were related to
parking.
. Lackof pedestrian connectivity
between businesses on
either side of SR 906.
. Width of roadway makes it
challenging for pedestrians to
cross, and parking is inefficient.
. Driver confusion caused by unclear
pavement markings and unclear
access points to businesses.
. Trucks parked in roadway limit
sight distance for people pulling
out of driveways and reduce
available parking for people
patronizing area businesses.
. Friction and conflicts between
vehicles parked along roadway
and vehicles in travel lane and
pedestrians in roadway create
congestion along SR 906.
' High vehicle speeds during
summer when congestion is
reduced and roadways are clear.
. Lackof access to l-90 EB from
Exit 52leads to driver confusion.
Corridor
Corridor
Corridor
Corridor
Off-street
Crossing
Crossing
Crossing
Not available
Not available
Not available
28%
Not available
55%
40%
40%
$$$
$$$
$
$$
$$$$
$$
$$
$$
Source: SCJ,2025.
It is important to note that due to snow-plow activity within the Snoqualmie
Pass area, recessed plastic pavement markings are recommended for
channelization. Sufficient budget must be allocated for renewing pavement
markings for the proposed solutions to be effective.
.
