That wording should be removed. Also,
on page 28 it states residents support a recreation hub enhance trails and public restrooms.
There is already The Palouse Trail better known as the John Wayne Trail that is maintained by
The Lake Easton State Park and has a port a potty, picnic area at the trail head. No additional
trails are needed in Easton. Section 4.5 we do not agree with any of the groups to create or
implement changes to undeveloped property along Railroad Street.
Easton is unincorporated; The town, as noted in the plan, has been declining over the past 30
plus years. Enforcing small businesses and landowners on Railroad Street with the designated
improvements listed on page 31 of sidewalks, benches, septic or sewer systems, lighting,
signage, public restrooms. Is troublesome to us. Who is going to maintain and care for those
items, and at whose expense? We do not support any of the sections in the Sub Area Plan
that talk of including or updates or the forming of committees to implement any of these
items along Railroad Street.
Implementing a pedestrian overpass over 190 as listed on page 31 of section EP5.2 is a waste
of taxpayers' money. It is not feasible to have such a structure constructed over an Interstate
due to the amount of snow and debris from plowing that could fall on vehicles below
potentially causing accidents. A huge liability for the county and state as well as taxpayers!
Page 34, section 6.4, constructing a noise barrier wall along Railroad Street and 190 is a waste
of taxpayers' money. 190 was here long before most residents moved in.
