inadvertently close a door that some property owners may need in the years ahead. The option
to explore and understand development limitations should remain available to the community.
I want to respectfully remind CDS and the Board of County Commissioners that this subarea
plan is not a document that was developed hastily or without broad input. Easton residents and
CDS have been working collaboratively on this plan for over a year and a half, through multiple
community meetings, outreach efforts, and rounds of feedback. The plan reflects that sustained
effort and the genuine investment of community members who have given their time, energy,
and ideas to this process. It is not a perfect document, no plan ever is, but it is a strong
foundation and a living document that can evolve as the community's needs and priorities
develop overtime.
I respectfully request that the Board of County Commissioners approve the Easton Subarea Plan
as part of the 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update. Easton deserves formal recognition within the
county's planning framework, and this plan provides the foundation to protect what I cherish
about this place while opening doors to a stronger, more vibrant future for all of its residents. I
intend to be present at the May 19th meeting to express that support in person.
Thank you for your continued partnership with the community throughout this process.
All the best,
Gina Peckman
