From: Jackie MARCHEFKA
To: Jeremy Johnston
Cc: Laura Osiadacz
Subject: EASTON
Date: Wednesday,April 15,2026 9:41:06 PM
CAUTION:This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network.Do not click links, open attachments,
fulfill requests,or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender and have verified the content is safe.
In regards to the Easton Subarea Plan:
Our opinions are:
No public bathrooms for many reasons.
Drug activity frequently is done in public restrooms as we see in news
Graffiti is another reason. Inside and outside the restrooms.
One of the most concerning is who is cleaning them?
Who will be responsible for upkeep of the building?
Who will take out the garbage and put it where?
No side walks.
Who is going to keep them up?Easton doesn't have a public works department.
No street lights.
Who is going to keep them working? Who is paying for them? Easton is not a city with infrastructure.
No sewer.
The cost of providing sewer to Easton would be an added cost to all residents and especially those of lower income.
We have been taxed enough. We moved here to decrease our monthly expenses in retirement. Not to have them
increased like Seattle.
Home ownership is important in this decision. We are the ones paying the taxes.
Improvements such as these above are not appropriate at this time for Easton.
Thank you,
Jackie and Mike Marchefka
Sent from my iPhone
