Appendix B Additional Public Comments Submitted in Writing <br /> opportunities to secure grants and levies that expand emergency services to address our <br /> communities'growing needs. <br /> Within the Easton Subarea Plan under chapter 6—Community Resilience,two areas <br /> discussed include: (6.2 and 6.4),which address two primary natural hazards:flooding and <br /> wildfire,which outlines very basic policy directing Easton to create a Firewise Community <br /> Ptan and explore expansion of fire/EMS services on both sides of 1-90. The <br /> recommended actions include doing much of what our community is engaged in and what <br /> is also being planned in the 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> The Gap:without a direct goal within the Comprehensive Plan and revision within the <br /> 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan, policies and goals within the Easton Subarea Plan are <br /> weak. This is a fact that not only impacts Easton, but other unincorporated <br /> communities such as Thorp, Ronald, Liberty, and Vantage,to name a few. <br /> During a recent multi community meeting with emergency management services, the <br /> question was asked if Easton could have helped to develop an emergency plan. The <br /> guidance we were given was to sign up for Everbridge and to be prepared to take care of <br /> ourselves. <br /> The Easton Subarea Plan once officially adopted will be a historical moment for our <br /> community. The subarea plan will provide solid action steps to continue to bring our <br /> community together and to develop a model rural community within the next twenty years <br /> that we can be even more proud of. <br /> During these next few months as the subarea plan moves forward for adoption, please <br /> reach out for clarification on any questions or concerns thatyou may have.
