This aligns with the walkway <br />and bicycle lane proven safety countermeasures and <br />provides pedestrians and cyclists with a dedicated space <br />that reduces their interactions with vehicles. <br /> Connect the intersection of SR 906 & Hyak Drive E to <br />the Palouse to Cascades Trail (approximately 0.2 miles). <br />This would provide an additional recreational element, <br />and connect pedestrians and cyclists to an extensive <br />trail system that crosses the state, local destinations <br />like Lake Keechelus and the Hyak Snow Park. <br /> Provide local non-motorized trail connectivity <br />between Alpental and Lake Keechelus. <br />SR 906, North of Intersection <br />with Hyak Drive E to <br />Lake Mardee Road <br />Reduce the gravel shoulder outside of the <br />pavement area to discourage parking and <br />provide additional snow storage. <br />Convert the excess paved shoulder <br />to shared use path. This aligns with <br />the walkway or bicycle lane proven <br />safety countermeasures and provides a <br />dedicated space for non-motorized usage. <br />Connect to Kendall Peak Lakes Trail, <br />allowing summer overflow to share <br />Summit East parking lots (requires <br />additional coordination with private <br />parking lot owners). <br />Corridor Improvement <br />SR 906, West of Intersection <br />with Hyak Drive E <br />Add a shared use path to provide non- <br />motorized transportation alternatives. <br />This aligns with the walkway and bicycle <br />lane proven safety countermeasures and <br />provides pedestrians and cyclists with <br />a dedicated space that reduces their <br />interactions with vehicles. <br /> Connect the intersection of SR 906 & <br />Hyak Drive E to Tanner Way (0.6 miles). <br />Corridor Improvement <br />Corridor Improvement <br />SR 906 is classified as a County Rural <br />Arterial per the Kittitas County Code <br />and should consist of 12-foot minimum <br />lanes and 4-foot minimum shoulders per <br />the Kittitas County Standard Plans.
