This aligns with the
walkway and bicycle lane FHWA proven safety
countermeasures and provides pedestrians and
cyclists with a dedicated space that reduces their
interactions with vehicles.
Connect the intersection of SR 906 &
Tanner Way to Summit Central (0.6 miles).
Provide local non-motorized trail connectivity
between Alpental and Lake Keechelus.
Reduce the speed limit to reflect appropriate
speeds for a revised roadway section.
Corridor Improvement
Intersection of SR 906 & Tanner Way
Implement corridor access management to improve
traffic flow into and out of private parking lots. By
defining entrances and exits, roadway users can know
where to expect cars to be.
Intersection Improvement
Intersection of SR 906 & Tanner Way
Install reflective crosswalk markings (such as bar
pairs, continental, or ladder) to act as crosswalk
visibility enhancements to reduce conflicts between
pedestrians and drivers, as the curvature of the
roadway reduces the visibility at the crossing location.
Install pedestrian-scale lighting in advance of the
crossing.
Install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) to
provide advanced warning of the crossing location and
make drivers aware of pedestrians within the crossing.
Crossing Treatment
55 Snoqualmie Pass Comprehensive Safety Plan | Kittitas County
