This roadway treatment provides bicyclists with a means of
making a left turn at a multi-lane signalized intersection from a
bike lane or cycle track on the far right side of the roadway. In
this way, bicyclists are removed from the flow of traffic while
waiting to turn. Use of this treatment could be mirrored for right-
turns from a one-way street with a left-side bikeway.
Cost $
Low Cost / Quick Build alternative available

BIKEWAYS
Manage Conflicts
in Time
Increase
Attentiveness
and Awareness
SAFE SYSTEM HIERARCHY
Remove Severe
Conflicts
Two-Stage Turn
Queue Bike Box
Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4
Prolongs the green phase when bicyclists are present to provide
additional time for bicyclists to clear the intersection.
