The second activity focused on location-specific countermeasures, inviting participants to vote for
their preferred countermeasures at designated sites in Snoqualmie Pass. While feedback varied
depending on the specific locations and their current concerns, several common themes emerged
across the activity, including:
•Support for new designated parking areas, improved parking enforcement, and solutions to
address problems caused by cars parking along SR 906.
•Support for separating vehicles and pedestrians and implementing traffic calming measures to
reduce vehicle speeds on SR 906.
•Support for improving pedestrian safety through enhanced crosswalks, including the installation
of high-visibility crossings at high-use locations and upgrades to existing crossings.
•Support for relocating truck parking from SR 906 to a designated truck parking area.
•Support for installing roundabouts or mini roundabouts at key intersections, including SR 906 &
Yellowstone Road and SR 906 & Hyak Drive E.
•Emphasis that any proposed solutions be effective and sustainable, particularly given the
operational needs of snowplows and the challenges posed by winter weather.
See Appendix C and Appendix D for a summary of all boards.
Next Steps
Figure 6: Community Engagement Process
The May 1 community meeting marked a key milestone in Phase 2 of the engagement process
(Figure 6). Feedback gathered during the event will guide the refinement and prioritization of
recommended countermeasures in the CSAP, helping ensure the final plan aligns with community-
identified needs.
Appendix D | 6
