Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
3| Impact
We are asking for funding for two separate projects. We have begun to re-brand the Clymer image. We would like funds to
create an advertising campaign with National magazines, including Website updates, and social media avenues to "Discover
Clymer". With funding we can build upon our designation as a top ten Museum of the West, from True West magazine.
The 2nd request is for a 3-day event called "Western Makers, Movers and Shakers". It will include and exhibit of Western made
items from functional gear to Art objects, to include hat makers, jewelers, furniture makers as well as musicians, spoken word
artists, along with workshops and classes. A 3-day event with cooperation from the Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame ending with
a community dance.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https:www.youtube.com/shorts/D3njsEZNIP8
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816. However, the committee has the right to be more restrictive.
Promotion and Advertising
Entertainment
Venue Rentals
Teachers and Speakers
Web upgrade
Staffing
Permits and Fees
2| Supporting Kittitas County as a tourism destination.
1. Away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations;
2. To a place fifty miles or more away from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight;
3. Or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business.
You must provide the evidence utilized in determining your projections.
Response 2.1: Why would tourists travel to Kittitas County to attend your event/activity/facility?*
To draw tourists to our museum or event we need to share that John Clymer actually existed. He is known in the Art world but
not to the average person. His extraordinary Art and career should be shared. A recent exhibit in Scottsdale's Western Spirit
drew large numbers (I went to see it...) Guest book last year 6800. This year to date is 6559. More visitors have come from out
of the area due to a magazine article in Cowboys and Indians.
The event we are proposing will draw people from out of the area, because we had something similar years ago, with just music
and poetry. This 3-day event will host speakers, classes, workshop and an amazing exhibit. Vendors will also be selling their
crafted goods. Being Western is now popular, and we are close to major metropolitan areas to draw from. There are no events
like this in our state.
2500 character limit
Response 2.2: Describe the prior success of your event/activity/facility to attract tourists.*
We don't have data for the new event. We keep numbers of our guests daily and with events. Our First Fridays are successful,
with over 200 visitors when hosting new exhibits. Artists are often not from the area, and they bring friends and family to see our
gallery.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 2
