3| Impact
Response 2.1: Why would tourists travel to Kittitas County to attend your event/activity/facility?*
Tourists will travel to Kittitas County to attend Suncadia's Summer Concert Series because it offers a unique blend of live
entertainment, family-friendly activities, and scenic outdoor experiences in one of Washington’s most picturesque resort
communities. Held every Friday and Saturday evening throughout July and August, the series is designed to appeal to a wide
range of visitors, from music lovers and couples seeking a weekend escape, to families looking for wholesome summer fun.
Set against the natural beauty of Kittitas County, the concert series features performances by regional and local musicians,
creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy complimentary children’s activities, such as face painting,
games, and interactive art stations, while sampling food and beverages from local vendors that showcase the culinary talent of
Kittitas County.
The timing of the event during the high summer tourism season makes it an ideal draw for overnight visitors. Suncadia’s lodging
options, combined with nearby accommodations, provide ample opportunity for extended stays. The concert series also
complements other outdoor recreation in the area, such as hiking, biking, and river activities, making it part of a broader
destination experience.
2500 character limit
Response 2.2: Describe the prior success of your event/activity/facility to attract tourists.*
While the Suncadia Summer Concert Series is a new activation for 2026, it builds on the proven success of two well-established
seasonal programs: the Backyard Spotlight Summer Concert Series and Summer Nights in the Village. These events have
consistently demonstrated their ability to attract tourists, engage the community, and drive economic activity in Kittitas County.
The Backyard Spotlight Series, held every Friday evening throughout July and August 2025, drew between 200 to 350 guests
per night, with a mix of resort guests, local residents, and visitors from across Washington. The series featured a rotating lineup
of regional musicians, family-friendly programming, and food and beverage offerings, creating a vibrant and inclusive
atmosphere. Budget and attendance records show strong engagement and consistent growth year-over-year
Similarly, the Summer Nights in the Village Concert Series, hosted at the Suncadia Pavilion, offered a curated musical
experience in a scenic setting. These events were well-attended and praised for their ambiance and accessibility, further
reinforcing Suncadia’s reputation as a cultural and recreational destination
The success of these prior series has informed the development of the new Suncadia's Summer Concert Series, which will be
held in the newly developed Suncadia Social area. This fresh setting allows for expanded capacity, improved infrastructure, and
enhanced guest experience. By leveraging the popularity and operational insights from past events, the new series is positioned
to attract even more visitors, extend overnight stays, and deepen the economic impact on local lodging, dining, and retail
businesses.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 2
