8| Funding
Response 8.1: Does your organization have, or have you applied for funding from other sources?*
Response 8.2a: If not, please explain why not.*
Response 7.10: Please explain your methodology.*
Please explain.
To effectively measure the success and tourism impact of Junk-tiquen Vintage Markets, we use a structured and data-informed
approach. This allows us to accurately assess attendance, visitor demographics, travel patterns, and economic contribution to
Kittitas County.
1. Direct Attendance Counts:
We conduct a direct count of all attendees and vendors at each event. This provides reliable baseline data for measuring event
scale and tracking year-over-year growth.
2. Informal On-Site and Post-Event Surveys:
We collect feedback through informal surveys conducted before, during, and after the event. These are administered both in-
person and digitally (via email and QR codes). The surveys provide insight into:
• Attendee origin, including the percentage traveling from more than 50 miles
• The number of overnight stays in local accommodations
• Visitor spending habits and duration of stay
• How attendees learned about the event (marketing channel tracking)
3. Data-Driven Estimation Process:
We apply the percentages collected from survey responses to our verified attendance numbers. For example, if 52% of
respondents indicate they traveled from more than 50 miles, we apply that percentage to the total attendee count to estimate the
volume of tourists.
Similarly, we estimate overnight stays based on reported lodging use. This method provides a reliable way to quantify the
event’s contribution to hotel occupancy, restaurant visits, and overall tourism-related spending in the area.
4. Continuous Improvement and Strategic Use:
Survey data and analytics are reviewed after each event to identify trends, measure marketing effectiveness, and refine
outreach strategies. This feedback loop helps us improve the visitor experience, strengthen vendor relations, and enhance
promotional targeting in key regions.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 5
Yes
No
Junk-tiquen in the Burg has not pursued or received grant funding from other sources, as we have not identified additional
opportunities that align well with our current organizational structure. At this time, we are solely reliant on this grant opportunity
and the dedication of our volunteer base to support the event’s success.
We are deeply grateful for the support provided by this grant and for the incredible commitment of our volunteers. Their efforts
not only help reduce operational costs but also strengthen the event’s community-centered foundation.
• Estimated Volunteer Hours (2025): 1,652 hours
• Estimated Value: At $23.56/hour, this represents approximately $38,921.12 in contributed time
Per Independent Sector the value of volunteer hours in Washington State for 2025 is $34.79/hour. This would increase the value
of volunteer hours to $57,473.10.
This significant in-kind support enables us to focus our limited financial resources on high-priority areas such as marketing,
venue rental, insurance, and event infrastructure. While we have not received outside funding beyond this grant, we continue to
explore potential opportunities that could help us expand and enhance the event in the future.
2500 character limit
