Response 6.1: Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your
project and its benefit to tourism.
Wine in the Pines is designed to become Central Washington’s premier summer wine and culinary festival, offering a high-
quality, inclusive experience that blends wine, food, art, and community engagement. Held at Suncadia’s historic Nelson Farm,
the event benefits from a scenic and accessible location that naturally attracts visitors seeking a weekend getaway in the heart
of Kittitas County.
The festival has demonstrated strong growth and appeal, with tasting ticket sales more than doubling year-over-year and
consistent demand for food, beverage, and entertainment offerings. Attendee feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,
confirming the event’s potential to become a signature tourism driver for the region.
As the event expands, we are building strategic partnerships with a wide range of local businesses, including food vendors,
artists, musicians, and retailers. Many of these partners are part of the emerging Suncadia Social district, and their participation
in Wine in the Pines helps drive foot traffic, visibility, and economic activity. To support this growth, we are implementing a
sustainability plan that includes raising tasting ticket prices, introducing tiered sponsorship packages, and expanding vendor
participation fees. These strategies will help offset infrastructure costs and ensure the event remains financially viable while
continuing to deliver a high-quality guest experience.
LTAC funding is essential to help cover the upfront costs associated with infrastructure, marketing, and programming—
especially as we scale the event to meet rising demand. With support, Wine in the Pines will continue to attract overnight
visitors, increase regional spending, and elevate Kittitas County’s reputation as a cultural and culinary destination.
2500 character limit
Response 6.2: You may upload any supporting documents such as graphs, images, diagrams, marketing materials, etc.
You are allowed to submit up to 3 single page (US Letter) documents in JPG, PDF or TIFF format
Wine in the Pines RECAP 2025.pdf 244.51KB
7| Previous Lodging Tax Grant Information
Response 7.1: Has your event received Lodging Tax funds in previous years?*
No, this event/project has not previously received Lodging Tax Funding
Yes, 1 year previous
Yes, 2 years previous
Yes, 3 years previous
Yes, 4 or more years previous
Response 7.2: Overall Attendance *
Past Actual *Projected *
750 825
Response 7.3: Number of people travelling more than 50 miles for your event?*
Past Actual *Projected *
637 700
Response 7.4: Number of people traveling from outside WA State for your event?*
Past Actual *Projected *
37 40
Response 7.5: The number of overnight guests who stay in paid accommodations in Kittitas County for your event?*
Past Actual *Projected *
1,286 1,414
Response 7.6: Number of paid lodging room nights resulting from you event/activity/facility?*
Past Actual *Projected *
